Facebook Publishing
According to Nielsen, 17% of all time spent online in 2009 was on social networks, a 300% increase over 2009. As your customers spend more time on social networks, it's increasingly important that you reach them where they start their online activity: their Facebook newsfeeds. Using SimpleFeed Facebook Publishing and Analytics services, you can publish any content to your Facebook fan pages – and to the newsfeeds of your customers. Publish automatically or manually, controlling the look and feel of content. If your customers make comments or "like" your content, it's distributed to their friends' newsfeeds, spurring viral distribution of your content. If you need help creating and managing Facebook fan pages or applications, SimpleFeed does that too.
Case Study – Electronic Arts
Business Challenge: Generate a Return on Social Media Investment
Pogo.com is the casual gaming brand of Electronic Arts (EA). It is the number one gaming site on the Internet, by player hours and paid subscribers. EA wanted to reach Pogo.com customers where they spend time, which increasingly is on Facebook. The company developed a Facebook fan page that quickly reached over 150,000 fans. Like many social media programs, the fan page was conversational and free of marketing. However, as the channel reached critical mass, Pogo.com wanted to generate a return on its social media investment.
Solution: Create RSS Program to Publish Marketing Content
In 2007, Pogo.com teamed up with SimpleFeed to establish an RSS program. The very popular program enables subscribers and prospects to receive offers, new product details and community information. In 2009, Pogo.com implemented the SimpleFeed Facebook Wall Publishing Service (see image 1). Now, Pogo.com can publish to its Facebook fan page wall any content it also publishes to RSS feeds (see image 2) and Twitter (see image 3), including trackable direct marketing offers.
Results: Effective Viral Marketing
When Pogo.com publishes content to its fan page wall, 150,000 fans receive the content in their newsfeeds. When fans "like" or comment on the content, it's virally dispersed to their friends newsfeeds. Emerging real-time search engines such as Google Social Search also pick up the content (see image 4). Pogo.com can measure all content interactions using its web analytics solution and SimpleFeed Facebook Analytics.
